Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.90 g, 12 h), P. Petronius Turpilianus, moneyer, Rome, 19 BC. TVRPILIANVS III•VIR• Head of Liber to right, wreathed with ivy. Rev. CAESAR AVGVSTVS SIGN•RECE Parthian kneeling to right, presenting signum. BMC 10. CBN 10. Cohen 485. RIC 287. Lightly toned. Light scratches and two bankers' marks on the obverse, otherwise, about very fine.

The reverse refers to one of Augustus' greatest diplomatic successes, namely the return of the Roman standards in 20 BC, which the Parthians had captured from Crassus, L. Decidius Saxa, and Mark Antony in earlier campaigns.
